Bell Starr
Belle Starr (Myra Belle Shirley) died in 1889 (Feb 3). There is marker on northside of Carthage MO square marking location of Myra's father John Shirley's hotel/livery & home. He owned most of the northside lots. Perhaps first movie made about her was silent film in 1912 & it did play Carthage. Museum will post article we have on Belle Starr film shot in McDonald County.
