The McDonald County Historical Society is proud to display contributions from donors wishing to share and preserve the history of McDonald County, Missouri. This section is donated to them with our appreciation. Persons interested in donating items to this collection may contact Raylene Lamb and Alberta Anders. All contributions become the property of MCHS and MCHS reserves the right to use donated items at their own discretion. All donated items will be displayed in the MCHS museum when the museum becomes reality.

Donated by Glenda Bell from Windsor, CO. Postcard found by Glenda Bell as she was sorting through things belonging to her grandmother, Jessie Wirt. Glenda writes, "My dad (Bud) lived with his parents, Gus and Jessie Wirt, in Noel when he was 10 years old. Gus worked on bridge construction in Noel. Bud took off and walked to a bridge construction site to see his dad who was not happy with him. That is when Jessie and Gus discovered that Bud had never enrolled in school. The school thought there were two Wirt children of school age but there were three!"
