MCHS Receives Community Grant Check

The McDonald County Historical Society received a $1,000 check from the Wal-Mart Supply Chain Team. Wal-Mart Global Supply Chain of Charitable Events Committee out of Bentonville, Arkansas sent over a dozen workers who spent time with the Society during the United Way Day of Caring held during April. Building repairs were a huge success that day as the Wal-Mart Team assisted with the renovation project of the County's old Sheriff's House.

The Historical Society plans to open the County Museum this fall in the building. Wal-Mart graciously mailed their donation of $1,000 to the Society to match the physical contribution their workers had made during the Day of Caring.

Receiving the Wal-Mart check are Alberta Anders, MCHS Secretary /Treasurer; Fred Lamb, Museum Labor Coordinator; and Gene Hall, MCHS Board of Directors. Gene and John Hobbs, United Way, organized the United Way Day of Caring for the Museum.
